Costumer Critiques

I have the older version of this item and identified the size and shape was cumbersome and painful to wear on my wrist (which is small), so I was tempted by the sleeker design of this 1. I haven't identified it any more comfy to wear, in spite of the shape transform, but the really very important thing, is, is it user friendly? I have to say it most definitely is not. I'm no techno wizard, but i managed to navigate myself round the controls of the older model successfully without having too a lot hassle but this one particular is an absolute nightmare. It is hyper sensitive and flits from one particular mode to the next at the merest of touches. I can't see any rhyme or reason to the sequence of controls on it and each and every time I have to have to use it, i waste a variety of minutes randomly touching and pressing it, attempting to get back to chronological mode. Admittedly, i haven't looked at the CD that comes with it but the fast instruction booklet is completely useless, and i mean completely useless. Typically, with a new item, you phaff around for the to begin with handful of uses, learning how the thing functions but following many weeks of frequent use, i am no additional forward whatsoever in understanding how it functions. Moreover, whilst charging 1 time, all the buttons/touch pads froze and absolutely nothing would operate at all. i contacted garmin believing i had a faulty model (and even wondered if this was the reason it had previously changed screen so randomly)but right after a couple of days of leaving it and trying buttons once more, it began to operate once more for no obvious reason. In the meantime, garmin took ages to get back to me and suggested holding down each buttons until the watch reset itself. I wavered among two and 3 stars in this review as the controls really are dire but when it is in chronological mode and operating ok, it really is extremely helpful and does the job. Ideally i would just like a item that is a stop watch with GPS, so that i can work out time on the run, pace, and miles covered. This is all i use this item for, but i truly do not feel it's mainly because i want a effortless item that I locate this a single so awkward. It really is most certainly rubbish when it comes to user friendliness, but like me, you will in all probability purchase it anyway, cos garmin has a fine name and there are not that a number of alternatives on the market.

The initial one particular I ordered would not charge beyond 3% though Amazon had no issues replacing it rapidly.

It takes a looonnnnnggggg time to choose up a satellite signal - I have recognized it take 8-9 minutes. In some cases I just give up and commence running anyway, and 12 minutes later it beeps and says the initial lap (1km) run in 12 minutes...er, I don't feel so.

It has an annoying bug exactly where the satellite progress bar crawls slowly up to 100%...then drops back again to 80% and slowly creeps up...then drops back once more...and once more...and again...If you look at the screen which shows which satellites are active, it can show 5 or six with a solid dark bar but nonetheless it does not appear to be content.

When it really picks up the satellites it functions fine except for an irritating tendency to switch views, and at times it is impossible to switch back with the bevel unresponsive (and NOT locked).

These are significant flaws for a item priced at over £260.
