Garmin Forerunner 405 with Heart Rate Monitor and USB ANT stick - Green

Item Description

Manufacturer's Description

The Forerunner 405 is a sleek sportswatch that tracks your time, distance, pace and heart rate, then wirelessly sends the data to your Pc for later analysis. With a high-sensitivity GPS receiver and HotFix™ satellite prediction, the Forerunner 405 locates your position basically, quickly and precisely and maintains its GPS location even in heavy cover and close to tall buildings and trees.

Education capabilities

Loaded with severe instruction attributes, the Forerunner 405 continuously records your time, distance, pace, calories burned and heart rate. Each and every workout is stored in significant internal memory (1000 laps) so you can review and analyse the data to see how you have improved. And advanced training attributes will challenge you to step up your pace - race against Forerunner's Virtual Partner® to increase your times, or set up interval workouts without getting to circle the track. You can even download recorded courses to compete against prior workouts. To use the watch, simply tap the touch bezel to adjust screens with no fumbling for a button.

Track Heart Rate

Forerunner 405 comes with a flexible, wireless heart rate monitor to help you make the most out of your training. The digital heart rate monitor continuously tracks heart beats per minute. Train in a certain heart rate zone to increase your fitness level or compare your pace and heart rate to past efficiency on the same run.

Share Workouts Wirelessly

With Forerunner 405, you can share your locations, advanced workouts and courses wirelessly with other Forerunner 405 users. Send your favourite workout to your associates to attempt, or compete against someone else's recorded course. Sharing information is hassle-free: just select "transfer" to send your info to a nearby device.

Run, Sync, Retailer and Share

As soon as you've logged the miles, innovative ANT+™ wireless technologies automatically transfers information to your pc when Forerunner is in range. No cables, no hookups. The data's just there, ready for you to analyze, categorize and share through our web based community, Garmin Connect at http://connect.garmin.com. You can even plan workouts on your laptop and then send them to your Forerunner.

Train All Year Round

Take your education inside with the versatile Forerunner 405 and optional wireless accessories. Pair it with an optional foot pod to track your pace, distance and operating cadence indoors when GPS signals are unavailable. The wireless foot pod clips onto your laces for effortless removal and automatically turns on when you commence moving. Or pair your Forerunner with an optional speed/cadence bike sensor to track the speed and distance of your cycling workouts.

Costumer Testimonials

Superior points -

- Looks quite good though nevertheless pretty chunky

- Wireless upload to site works well (just after you have managed to set it up)

- Garmin connect web page is fairly great - quick to view history of your races/run statistics

- I've had the watch for 2 years, ran 821KM and 123 runs and it is still working!

Less fantastic points -

- Locking the bezel involves pressing the quit/start off and lap/reset button at the very same time - do it incorrect and you can finish up stopping your watch during races whilst attempting to lock the bezel

- Can take a while to find GPS in some places

- Wish it was less difficult to switch among miles/km on both garmin watch and site

- I've in no way utilised the heart rate monitor band as it is too huge, I am in a standard size range (size 10)

- display only shows three pieces of data at a time

I've been impressed with the ease of use speed of selecting up GPS signal.

Yet, I'm on my 2nd forerunner as I had a minor tumble from my bike and the strap broke. I'm a bit disappointed with this as the watch is created for sport and so should certainly be somewhat robust.

I had a little difficulty with initially syncing the watch and my Computer to track my routes, but as soon as sorted out the connection is reliable.
